5.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Luzon
A magnitude 5.4 earthquake hit Batangas province and other areas on Tuesday night April 4, 2017, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake cause of fault movement betweet Batangas ang Mindoro. The quake's epicenter was located 7 kilometers northwest of Tingloy town, Batangas. It struck at 8:58 p.m.

Intensity 4 in Makati City and Obando, Bulacan, and Intensity 3 in Mandaluyong City, Quezon City, General Trias and DasmariƱas in Cavite, Santa Ana in Manila and in Lucena City in Quezon, Intensity 2 in Talisay, Batangas and Pasig City.

Phivolcs, however, warned of aftershocks.

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was also recorded in the same area at 9:11 p.m., followed by a magnitude 2.5 quake at 9:17 p.m.

A third earthquake at magnitude 2.6 was also recorded at 9:26 p.m.

There was no threat of a tsunami but aftershocks were expected, Solidum said.
